Welcome to the Summit Pit project website
This website includes information about the mine plan, the Development Permit and Code of Practice for Pits applications, technical reports, timelines and public engagement opportunities.
About the Project
Mountain Ash Limited Partnership (MALP) recently submitted a Land Use Amendment application and Master Site Development Plan (MSDP) for the Summit Pit project and received approval on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. As the next step in the process, MALP will develop and submit a Development Permit (DP) application and a Code of Practice for Pits (CPP) for approval.
The DP will outline proposed operating conditions at Summit Pit and will be used to ensure future compliance at the site. It will address many components, including hours of operation, groundwater monitoring, buffers, haul routes and mitigation measures related to noise and visual impacts, among others.
A CPP application and approval is required before operations can begin and regulates disturbance, reporting and reclamation activities.
More information about the DP and CPP applications will be shared on the project website as planning progresses. In the meantime, for questions or comments, please get in touch.
